Tosha Anderson

Tosha Anderson is The Charity CFO, which “was founded to offer accounting and thought leadership skills to nonprofit organizations.” Tosha brings over 30 years of experience in nonprofit accounting to her clients, and serves groups of all sizes and missions.

Host Steve Boland talks to Tosha about allocating costs for programs to better tell a nonprofit story. Some funders limit “management and general” or indirect costs to programs, but part of raising the necessary resources to support a nonprofit mission is telling the full story of all costs involved. Tosha discusses methods to allocate indirect costs (making them part of a program budget), using that information to make better management decisions, and understanding when funder limits may be causing problems for specific programs.
